MY PC IS DEAD!

This is awful! I really want to get my work/studies/game on done and my computer just won't power on/turn on/boot up. I've tried all sorts of things like pressing the start button, checking the outlet and even pressing the reset button, but nothing is working! Could it be that there's something wrong with the hard drive? I'm totally lost. Any tips
